Mancunian masters of misery Esoteric Youth and Caïna have joined forces for a limited split release.
Esoteric Youth follow on from 2013’s ‘The Burden Of Living’ with two tracks of expansive blackened hardcore, pushing the limits of their sound. Vocalist Dom Moss commented on the split: "We're excited to be releasing our best-thought-out material yet, alongside an artist who always pushes the boundaries of black metal. Taking the case of Thomas Quick as inspiration, we managed to drag these songs to a much darker place, both lyrically and musically, than we'd visited on previous releases; we believe it has led to these being the most intense songs we've written to date."
Having struck up a deal with Church Of Fuck for 2013’s ‘Earth Inferno’ EP, Caïna unveils the first release of its 10th anniversary year, with mastermind Andrew Curtis-Brignell adding: “Esoteric Youth are among our most exciting, visceral and challenging bands and I am beyond thrilled to be releasing this tape, particularly as it continues my relationship with Church Of Fuck, for me the best underground imprint in the UK. ‘We Sleep’ is a mantra-weapon against Abrahamic slave-shackle eschatology - do not live for some great reward, live a complete life NOW or you may as well have never been born. ‘Apocrypha’ is a true story from the future. Watch the skies."
